Optical Fiber, our strength

For almost 20 years, TCI has installed optical fibre networks for customers such as Allstream, Bell and Vidéotron. Since the advent of fibre optic technology we have been continuously learning and innovating to maintain ourselves as leaders in this area. In 2006, Mr. Serge Rodrigue, leading optical fibre industry expert and recognized throughout North America joined the ranks of TCI Telecom as Assistant Director.

Tests are essential for the assessment and certification of networks and our testing services allow for network characterization and optimisation. TCI OTDRs are in constant use. All of our installations are certified including networks using 1625 nm and WDM technologies.

Transelec Common Inc. was one of the first entrepreneurs in Quebec to complete ribbon fiber matrix removal for splicers on loose tube fiber to adapt to Bells needs.

Throughout the province of Quebec and beyond most of our customers are from the Greater Montreal Area (GMA: Montreal, South & North Shore) and TCI is very active in large multidisciplinary projects far away from the GMA, such as Wind Farms construction projects in Gaspésie and other projects elsewhere, where our expertise is used to install and splice OPGW.

Corning Optical Fiber Certification

TCI is Certified by Corning and offers a wide range of products and services designed to perform in applications such as long-haul, submarine, metro, access and premises and the development of new fiber network designs.

High tech equipment and vehicles

Our technicians work with tools, equipment and vehicles in optimal conditions. Our vehicles are actual mobile labs. Even though our crews work in harsh environments (cold winter's days and summer's scorching heat) and have to handle enclosures that have gone through extreme weather conditions and soiled with dirt, once in their trucks technicians take advantage of the most advanced equipment in a clean environment allowing them to concentrate and perform their work in a very precise manner.
